Dust cloud evolution and flame propagation of organic dust deflagration under low wall influence

نویسندگان

چکیده

The present study discusses experiments on organic dust explosions in a setup with low wall influence. proposed apparatus decouples the dispersion and deflagration event two separate compartments. use of continuous-wave laser to illuminate centre plane observation chamber allows capturing both, cloud flame during same experiment eliminates typical problems caused by limited dynamic range high-speed cameras. A k-means clustering method is used for image segmentation obtain spatial extent propagation velocities unreacted particle zone. Spatially resolved are calculated additional an optical flow method. main goal presented processing provide high quality validation data development numerical models deflagration.

Transient flame propagation process and flame-speed oscillation phenomenon in a carbon dust cloud

Please cite this article in press as: L. Qiao, Com A detailed numerical study was conducted to understand the transient flame propagation process and the flame-speed oscillation phenomenon in a carbon dust cloud. The modeling included the solution of a set of time-dependent conservation equations developed for the gas phase and the particle phase in a spherical coordinate. The gas-phase reactio...

Heat Recirculation Effect on the Structure of Wood Dust Flame Propagation

A model for heat-recirculating micro combustor is developed. It investigates the structure of laminar, one-dimensional and steady state flame propagation in uniformly premixed wood particles with considering the effects of heat recirculation caused by configuration of micro combustor. The flame structure is divided into three regions: a preheat-devolatilization zone where the rate of the gas-ph...

analytical modeling of a counterflow diffusion flame of a dust cloud

diffusion flame in a dust cloud combustion in a counterflow configuration is investigated in this research. it is presumed that the fuel particles vaporize first to yield a gaseous fuel to oxidize with the gas phase. the reaction rate is assumed to be of the arrhenius type. conservation equations for the non-unity lewis number are solved and the flame temperature with the variations of differen...

Transition from Deflagration to Detonation in Layered Dust Explosions

Dust layers on the bottom of mine tunnels, on fac toy floors, or on the floors of gruin elevator passages are the most frequent cause of highly destructive dust explosions. Typically, such layered dust explosions involve a high velocity, acceleruting, turbulent flame which is fed by the dust layer and results in high clestructivt' static and dynamic pressures. In some cases transition to detona...
